Cases involving juvenile offenders are handled differently based upon the age of the child.
- Children Under Age 10: These cases are handled in the child welfare system and the ACE program. For more information, please read Commissioner Reinhardt's newsletter about the ACE program.
- Children Ages 10 to 17: These cases may be prosecuted in juvenile court or, if serious and committed by a child 14 or older, may be transferred to adult court.
