Ramsey County parks provide a diverse range of year-round recreational activities that promote health and wellness for all ages. The Winter Recreation Area at Battle Creek Regional Park is the first winter recreation area with machine-made snow in the East Metro. Cross-country skiing on lighted trails, sledding, snowshoeing, winter hiking, programs and events are all part of the fun at the Battle Creek Winter Recreation Area.

Cross Country Skiing

Battle Creek Winter Recreation area isn’t the only place to cross-country ski. A mutual Ramsey County/Saint Paul ski pass lets you enjoy over 50 km of marked and groomed natural snow trails in Ramsey County and Saint Paul. Find a ski area near you. Don’t have skis? No problem, there are a number of places to rent them.

Programs & Events

Learn to ski, snowshoe, kicksled and more by joining one of our guided programs. Led by dedicated staff, these are opportunities to try out a new winter activities, and many programs are free.
