Organizations throughout Ramsey County are offering support to individuals and families through free holiday meals, food distribution events and discounted groceries. Please be sure to confirm details and any necessary registration requirements in advance.
Thanksgiving Food Resources Guide
Get help finding or affording food

- Ramsey County Navigators | 651-266-8500 (Monday - Friday 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.) | Interpreters available. Get help navigating Ramsey County services including financial assistance services, social services, employment assistance and property tax.
SNAP
Also known as food stamps, SNAP helps pay for food. Many people with lower incomes are eligible.

Market Bucks
Get $30 worth of food for $10 in SNAP/EBT with Market Bucks. Market Bucks match SNAP/EBT spending at participating farmers markets across Minnesota.
For each $1 in SNAP/EBT you spend (up to $10), you get $1 in Market Bucks AND $1 in Produce Market Bucks to spend on food at the market.

People living on a low income
Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP)
Get cash and food assistance for families with low incomes and children.
Fare for All
Purchase groceries at a discounted price. There are no qualifications to participate and no pre-registration.
Twin Cities Mobile Market
A grocery store on a bus. Purchase affordable groceries at various stops throughout the metro area.

Children under the age of 18 and pregnant people
Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
WIC serves babies and children up to age 5, pregnant women, new mothers and birthing parents. Caregivers, including dads, grandparents, foster parents of young children and working families can also apply.
WIC provides:
- WIC card to purchase healthy foods at the grocery store.
- Nutrition education.
- Breastfeeding support.
- Referrals to healthcare and other community services.
- Appointments are available in English, Hmong, Karen, Somali and Spanish.

Saint Paul Parks and Recreation programs for 0-18-year-olds
Ramsey County and Saint Paul Public Libraries programs
Many libraries offer snacks for children 18 and under. Please contact your local library for more details.

Seniors can apply for public assistance and get help navigating home and community-based Medicaid programs, home care services and specialized housing.

People living with life threatening diseases can get medically tailored meals delivered.

Immigrants and refugees
These programs include government programs that are available to non-citizens.
Minnesota Food Assistance Program (MFAP)
Legal non-citizens ages 50 or older who do not qualify for SNAP can receive state-funded food assistance.
Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP)
Refugee families with children can receive cash and food assistance.

Comunidades Latinas Unidas en Servicio (CLUES) – Canasta Familiar Food Shelf
Provides free food distribution program, healthy cooking and eating programs and assistance applying to SNAP for the Latino/x community.

Halal food shelves serving East African families.

Masjid At-Taqwa Food Shelf
Both Muslims and non-Muslims are welcome to receive food from the Masjid At-Taqwa MN Food Shelf.
