Visitation at the Adult Detention Center
At the Adult Detention Center, individuals in-custody have the opportunity to visit family, friends, and service providers. In addition, individuals in-custody have access to phone calling and mail.
On-site Video Visiting
Video visiting is available on-site. Visits are free of charge, non-contact, and conducted via a video monitor in the Adult Detention Center lobby (425 Grove Street, Saint Paul).
To participate in an on-site video visit at the Adult Detention Center:

All visitors must register for a video visitation account online at the Securus Website. Prior to scheduling an on-site video visit, detention staff must be approve the account.

Visitors must schedule appointments at least 24 hours in advance. All visitors, 18 years of age and older, accompanying the account holder must be added to the appointment as guests. Please note, individuals in-custody can only view whether they have a visit scheduled. Individuals in-custody are not able to schedule, modify or cancel visitation appointments.

Visitors must arrive at the Adult Detention Center at least 10 minutes prior to the scheduled visit for check in. Visitors who arrive late may not be able to conduct a visit.

Visiting appointments start at the scheduled time and cannot be altered if an individual is late for an appointment.

Due to the availability of visiting terminals and inmate movement, visits may be canceled. The system will notify the visitor of the cancellation via e-mail.

Remote (At Home) Video Visiting
Remote video visitation has become a common practice in jails across the country. This ensures the ability for loved ones to visit residents in-custody without the need for transportation, daycare, or taking time away from work or school.
Remote video visiting is available via computer with a high-speed internet connection and webcam, or using the free iPhone/iPad or Android apps available for download. Visit the Securus Website for information about compatible devices.
To participate in a remote video visit at the Adult Detention Center:

In-person Contact Visiting
In-person contact visiting is not a general practice at the Adult Detention Center. There are limitations for in-person contact visiting due to the physical plant of the facility and staffing levels required to conduct an in-person contact visit. In-person visits are only permitted on a case-by-case basis and must include extenuating circumstances. There are no guarantees an in-person contact visit will be accommodated.
Professional Visiting
Attorneys, probation officers, and other authorized professionals may visit an inmate any day of the week. Detention staff do not schedule appointments for professional visits. Professional visitors may visit their client anytime within the set hours. Please bring your government issued identification/driver’s license and other applicable identification.
