Park & Picnic Reservations
Ramsey County Parks & Recreation has 28 picnic facilities available to rent by individuals, groups, organizations and businesses.
Use of a picnic shelter or pavilion requires a paid permit. Most parks contain several uncovered picnic tables that may be used for free and without a reservation.
Season, hours and fees
Season
Pavilions and shelters may be reserved for dates within the picnic season.
2024 season: May 4 - September 29
Hours
Facilities may be reserved for use between 11:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.

Fees vary based on facility amenities and capacity.
Facility types
All facilities have grills located next to the structure or in a nearby area of the park.

Pavilions
Pavilions are open-air facilities with picnic tables, interior kitchens, electricity and water. Pavilions can accommodate large groups of 125-500 people, depending on the facility.
Shelters
Shelters are open-air facilities with picnic tables and electricity. They can accommodate groups of 50-125 people, depending on the facility.
Basic shelters
Basic shelters are open-air facilities with picnic tables. They can accommodate groups of 30-50 people, depending on the facility.
Make a reservation
Reservations may be made up to 365 days in advance for a private event, or 13 months in advance for a community event. Reservations for the upcoming weekend should be made by 3 p.m. on Wednesday.

Prior to making a reservation, review the picnic facility rules and refund policies.

Reservations by phone can be made Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Payment
Full payment is due at the time of reservation. Permits will be issued via email. Accepted payment forms are cash, in-state check, and credit or debit card (Visa, MasterCard and Discover).
Additional permits
An additional fee for permits will be added if your reservation includes:
- Animal roast.
- Inflatable unit or dunk tank (Certificate of Insurance due 30 days before event).
- Speakers to amplify music or other sound (not allowed at Battle Creek Regional Park).
Special use permits
Special use permits are required for events and activities beyond picnic and barbecue events, including:
- Beginning or ending a picnic outside of standard hours.
- Community events, races, walks, fundraisers, ceremonies, etc.
