Treated wood contains chemicals to protect it from damage due to insects, moisture and fungi.

Legal Considerations
It is illegal to burn treated wood in wood stoves, fireplaces or recreational or cooking fires. Burning releases chemicals that can be harmful to human health and the environment.
Disposal
Do not bring treated wood to the yard waste collection sites.
Most trash haulers accept treated wood. Call for disposal and pickup options. You can also contact one of the disposal companies listed below.
