University Avenue Construction

University Avenue from Curfew Street to Farrington Street will be reconstructed in 2024.

The project will include replacing pedestrian ramps and installing rapid reflective flashing beacons.

Selected contractor: New Look Contracting  

Goals

• Improve Pedestrian Safety across University with the use of Rapid Reflective Pedestrian beacon.

Timeline

• Work will start August 26 and continue through September.

Traffic Impacts

• University will be reduced to one lane at each of the proposed locations. A Pedestrian Detour Route will be included while the closure is up at each location. Work at each location is expected to take about one week. Proposed locations include:

  • Curfew Street

  • Lasalle Street

  • Lynnhurst Avenue

  • Oxford Street

  • Milton Street

  • Avon Street

  • Farrington Street
