Self-service kayak rentals now available at regional parks
This summer, Ramsey County Parks and Recreation introduced an innovative self-service watercraft rental program at six locations throughout the county. The program is designed to enhance outdoor recreation by providing a user-friendly, digital experience for both residents and visitors.
The rental service offers various watercraft, including kayaks, paddles, and life jackets. Users can easily reserve and access the equipment through a streamlined digital process. By scanning a QR code available at each location or visiting a designated website on their smartphone, users can check equipment availability, make secure payments, and receive instructions on how to retrieve and return their rented gear.
The primary goal of this initiative is to make water-based recreational activities more accessible and convenient for the community. The program is designed to cater to both experienced kayakers and beginners interested in exploring new outdoor hobbies. By integrating technology into outdoor recreation, Ramsey County Parks and Recreation aims to reduce barriers to entry and create a welcoming environment where individuals of all skill levels can engage with nature.
The self-service watercraft rentals are available at the following locations, each providing access to beautiful waterways. Rentals are priced at $25 per 2-hour session, and equipment is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
