The surface layer on Maryland Avenue between Albemarle and Jackson streets will be removed and replaced with new, smooth pavement in 2023.
The project will also include road striping from Albemarle Street to Rice Street, restriping from a 4-to-3 lane road and replacing the traffic signal at the intersection of Maryland Avenue and Sylvan Street. A pedestrian median will be installed across N Park Street to provide enhanced safety for traffic crossing to Sylvan Park and a parking lane will be added for Sylvan Park between N. Park Street to Sylvan Street.
Land surveying crews will be working in the project area before, during and immediately after construction.
There will be no cost to property owners for this project.
