Filing a Complaint
The Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to providing public safety services under the principles of trust and confidence between department members and the community. Any person who believes an employee’s actions are improper can make a complaint.
There is a supervisor available within the Sheriff’s Office to speak with you about your concern or complaint. Discussing the incident with the employee’s supervisor first is encouraged. This will allow the supervisor to discuss the circumstances surrounding the incident, clarify authority or actions, explain the responsibilities of a member of the Sheriff’s Office and answer any questions. Often many complaints are resolved in this manner.
