Rush Line Corridor Task Force
The Rush Line Corridor is an 80-mile travel corridor between Saint Paul and Hinckley, consisting of 23 urban, suburban and rural communities linked by a common need to be mobile and connected. This travel corridor is represented by the Rush Line Corridor Task Force which consists of city, county and township-elected officials planning transit improvements to enhance mobility, promote economic development and preserve community and environmental assets within the Rush Line Corridor.
Rush Line BRT project information
The Task Force has four primary purposes:
- Fund transit improvement within the Rush Line Corridor, including demonstration transit service, infrastructure improvements and feasibility studies.
- Coordinate the expertise of Task Force members to provide technical and policy guidance to transporation agencies working within the corridor, such as the Minnesota Department of Transporation and the Metropolitan Council.
- Advocate for improved transit service within the Rush Line Corridor.
- Provide information to the public to increase transparency and to support community input on decisions made by the Task Force.
Task Force membership includes representatives from local government organizations within the region.
Transit service in the corridor today
The Rush Line Corridor Task Force partners with its members and transit agencies to invest in improved transit service, including new express bus routes and improved park and ride facilities, to increase the availability of reliable, convenient and affordable transportation choices. Local and express bus service in the Rush Line Corridor is operated by Metro Transit, Chisago Isanti Heartland Express and Arrowhead Transit. Park and ride lots are available at several locations within the Rush Line Corridor, including: Forest Lake, Lent Township, Lino Lakes, Maplewood, Running Aces, Vadnais Heights, and Wyoming.
