Workforce Solutions highlights their work at the Midway Job Fair and National Night Out

On June 26, the Workforce Innovation Board (WIB) and Workforce Solutions hosted the fourth Midway Area Job Fair which is the largest job fair the county supports annually. It was a beautiful day, and more than 400 job seekers came to Allianz Field to seek employment and learn about community programs from nearly 40 local organizations. Many people applied and interviewed for jobs on the spot. Thank you to our partners, Ramsey County and Workforce Innovation leaders for a successful job fair.

Marsden Services, a Saint Paul based company that provides cleaning services, was one of the employers participating at the job fair. Ian Williams, a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Marsden said, “We are happy to be here for the third time and the turnout is always great. We talked to multiple people and we can’t wait to get back to the office and move forward with them.”

Dillon Donnelly from the East Side Employment xChange also appreciated the event. "Job fairs are really helpful for the East Siders we work with and we made some great connections at the Midway Job Fair. One of the better contacts I made was with Metro Transit, specifically getting a referral to their bus training team. Helping our job seekers access transit is critical to sustained employment," said Donnelly.

On Aug. 6, Ramsey County Workforce Solutions joined several local community-based organizations to celebrate National Night Out. Hosted by The Sanneh Foundation at Conway Community Center, this event brought out hundreds of families for fun games, food and an opportunity learn about resources available in the community.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer.  It is held on the first Tuesday of every August.
