Rose Lindsay named Director of Communications & Public Relations

Rose Lindsay has been selected as Ramsey County’s new Director of Communications & Public Relations. Lindsay’s responsibilities will include leading Ramsey County’s external and internal strategic communications plans, maintaining the county’s brand and digital communications channels, serving as an advisor to elected officials and senior leaders, managing media relations and overseeing a department of 20 employees.
Lindsay has more than 20 years of experience in the communications and marketing fields. Lindsay joins Ramsey County from the city of Minneapolis, where she’s worked since 2013. She currently serves as interim director of communications and is responsible for citywide comprehensive communications planning and overseeing all city-owned communications channels. Prior to her interim appointment, Lindsay served as the city’s deputy director of communications and previously held positions as the manager of grants and community engagement for Regulatory Services and marketing and communications manager for Community Planning and Economic Development. Before joining Minneapolis, Lindsay worked in communications, account management and marketing roles for local community organizations and publications.
Lindsay holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas. She also earned a project management certificate through the University of Minnesota’s college of continuing education.
Heavily involved in the community, Lindsay volunteers with Second Harvest Heartland and Ready for Success. She’s previously served on boards for the Women of Minneapolis Employee Network, the Center for Communications and Development/KMOJ Radio and Latino Economic Development Center. A county resident, Lindsay resides in Roseville with her family.
She will begin in the position on Jan. 9, reporting to Karen Francois, Deputy County Manager of Information and Public Records.
