Ramsey County Partners with GroundBreak Coalition
Ramsey County is now a key partner of GroundBreak Coalition helping to address the root cause of racial and economic disparities in local communities. The regional working group consists of more than two dozen corporate, civic and philanthropic leaders. They've committed six months to identifying investment opportunities and financial products such as loans, loan guarantees and/or grants that will achieve racial and economic justice in four primary areas:
- Homeownership.
- Rental housing.
- Commercial development.
- BIPOC entrepreneurship.
The county's partnership with GroundBreak is being led by the Community & Economic Development team, demonstrating the county's ability to support the actions necessary for dismantling systemic racism and ultimately closing racial wealth gaps, as laid out in the Economic Competitiveness and Inclusion Plan.
About GroundBreak Coalition
GroundBreak Coalition launched in May 2022 with the ultimate 10-year plan to mobilize $2 billion dollars of flexible private, public and philanthropic capital for historically under-invested communities. The group looks to close long-standing racial disparities in the region, unraveling policies and biases embedded in financial and civic systems.
