Ramsey County Manager Ryan O’Connor to join Metropolitan Council as next Regional Administrator
We are grateful for County Manager Ryan O’Connor’s tireless, visionary leadership these past 10 years which have included some of the most unprecedented times and challenges in government history. Ryan has always centered collaboration and partnerships in his work which is one of the many reasons why we are absolutely thrilled for him to take on this new role as the next Regional Administrator for the Metropolitan Council. It is a great opportunity for Ryan to make a regional impact and the county to grow our relationship with one of our key partners.
The Ramsey County Board in partnership with County Manager O’Connor and a team of exceptional, innovative leaders across the organization are working on a transition plan that will lead the county into the future grounded on our vision, values, and strategic priorities:
-
Resilience: Building Capacity to Respond, Adapt and Thrive Under Changing Conditions
-
Residents First: Effective, Efficient and Accessible Operations
The county plans to have an interim county manager in place before O’Connor’s departure March 1, 2024, and will seek to hire a recruitment firm to conduct a national search for the next county manager.
The county board will discuss transition plans further on Tuesday, Dec. 19 at the regularly scheduled board meeting. All Ramsey County board meetings and workshops are livestreamed and recorded.
