Board declares May 2022 Mental Health Awareness Month
The board of commissioners has declared May as Mental Health Awareness Month.
Mental health impacts a person’s emotional, social, environmental, financial and overall well-being, with significant disparities among racially and ethnically diverse communities. The board reaffirms its commitment to improving the conditions that influence quality of life and health outcomes of Ramsey County residents through supporting culturally appropriate mental health and well-being initiatives.
Commissioner Frethem read the proclamation with county social worker Amy Acker offering remarks.
Mental health assistance
Ramsey County provides comprehensive mental and behavioral health services, both directly and through contracts with private agencies. People who have insurance, public health care (such as medical assistance), or are without insurance can find help.
