Board declares May 1-7 as Correctional Officers Week
The board of commissioners has declared May 1-7 as Correctional Officers Week.
The county employs over 300 full-time and intermittent Correctional Officers, Sergeants, Lieutenants, Captains and support staff through both the Sheriff’s Office and Community Corrections. Ramsey County Correctional Officers are skilled and professional individuals who serve 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to safely, securely and humanely house inmates within the county, often in the face of violence and danger.
Commissioner McGuire read the proclamation with staff from the Sheriff’s Office offering remarks.
