Black family spending time together

Family coaching services are now available for Ramsey County’s African American/Black and American Indian families. Family coaches are partners who offer strength, motivation and holistic support for a minimum of six months to help families thrive.

What does a family coach do?

  • Implements Kellogg Family-Centered Coaching Model that meets families where they are and helps them work towards stability.
  • Provides a safe space for families to access culturally responsive, community-based resources and services for themselves and children, navigate challenges, and develop their own solutions needed to reach their personal goals.
  • Offers voluntary, flexible, holistic, trauma-informed, follow-along support to assist individuals in acquiring skills and setting goals.
  • Provides support for families committed to working with a coach for at least six months.
  • Is provided by trusted community agencies.

Who can receive family coaching services?

We welcome African American/Black identifying, American Indian/Native American and multiracial parents/guardians of children 0-18 years old who are Ramsey County residents and able to commit to a coaching partnership.
