Join us for a career in corrections. Ramsey County Correctional Officers are some of the highest paid correctional employees in the United States and enjoy robust employee benefits, a choice of work schedules, and purposeful and meaningful work.
Our Community Service Officers (CSOs) are non-licensed Sheriff's Office members and serve by supporting both licensed and non-licensed staff in the areas of patrol, detention, court security, and warrant and process services. CSOs also help to facilitate communication between law enforcement staff and residents and might be called upon to perform a variety of duties in a wide range of assignments.
Our Correctional Officers serve by ensuring the security and safety of both inmates and staff at the Ramsey County Adult Detention Center (jail). Correctional Officers have a variety of roles and responsibilities including observing and monitoring inmate behavior, supervising and facilitating inmate daily living activities, talking regularly with inmates to ensure an atmosphere of open staff/inmate communication, and enforcing rules, regulations, and facility policies.
